Roche Lacour has long been a best selling sparkling success story here at Laithwaites with an avid following who eagerly await release of every vintage. Well here it is. This newly released 2003 reveals extraordinary ripeness of fruit thanks to an exceptionally warm vintage yet it retains all of its characteristic, apple-crisp freshness. As always, Roche Lacour is crafted in the same exacting manner as fine vintage Champagne but from the hills of the Limoux region. Extended bottle ageing brings out considerable complexity and a creaminess of texture normally only found in wines at two or more times the price. Pale yellow with a fresh apply nose layered with a hint of fresh yeast. There is a refreshing well balanced fizz with good depth of flavour and a long finish. A celebratory wine par excellence!
